"Soy Saké to Me" (Soy Food Products and Saké) was an event heldat Takara Saké Tasting Room on Saturday, October 24,1998 presented by AIFW (American Institue of Food & Wine Northern California Chapter), and sponsored by Takara Saké USA inc., Vitasoy USA Inc., Millennium Retaurant (Silver Medal Award" 1995, 1998 Restaurant of the year, Bay Area naturally) and the Fitness Gourmet. Takara Saké Inc., introduced various types of Saké, paired with chef Eric Tucker's original menus from Millennium. Patricia Greensberg ( The Fitness Gourmet), chef, nutritionist and Soy-food specialist also pairs her desserts with Saké.
Most of the foods were tofu based including tofu salad, ricotta, warm baby spinach & bitter greens with roasted asian pear & smoked tofu, and tofu pumpkin cheesecaké. There were about 100 participants in the event, and many seemed to be very interested in having Saké with Tofu dishes as healthy foods. Judging by the feedback from participants, the event was a success.
