Plum Sake

A plum sake drink may be either a cocktail or bottled beverage. The cocktail often calls for part sake to be mixed with plum wine. Other possible additions include lemon juice, cherry juice and lime or plum garnishes.

It is quite common for people to look down on the creation of a mixed drink such as plum sake. Many people compare sake to wine and find the idea of mixing it disagreeable for that reason. Others are happy to indulge in such creations as a saketini or tamagozake. It is of course a matter of personal preference.

Plum sake is capable of being purchased in a standard sake bottle from many different breweries. Gekkeikan, a company responsible for over 25% of sake sales in America, sells a popular variety. Other commonly found brands include Momokama, Moonstone, Silk Road, and Kishu.
