Best Sake

The best sake may be defined by a number of factors. Certain things such as materials, brand, and processing techniques are used by individuals to gauge the value of a beverage. There are also some techniques which a person can employ to ensure that they are consuming a good quality drink.

Many people agree that the best sake rice to use is the yamada nishiki variety. This is due to such factors as its large size and easily peeled skin. At the same time, it is a commonly held viewpoint that the water used in the creation of the drink has a greater influence on its taste. The respective types of the koji mold and sake yeast are other important matters.

Despite what popular culture seems to imply about temperature, the best sake drinks are generally served chilled to cold rather than hot. Though sake was traditionally created hot, this is no longer valued today. The process of heating up sake is viewed as a way of hiding an insufficient quality of taste.
